Cleator Moor Nursery School

Additional Hours

Every 3 to 4 year-old child is eligible for 15 hours universal free childcare. The Government has now introduced an additional 15 hours free childcare for working parents, who meet eligibility criteria.

The government has launched a new web site called www.childcarechoices.gov.uk  for children under 12 years old (under 17 years old for disabled children). Log on to this website and register for your eligibility code; without it, we cannot allocate additional hours. There is also a Childcare Calculator at www.gov.uk/childcare-calculator where you can see what offers are available to support you and your family. Eligibility criteria is available on this website also.

Your 30 hours entitlement can be used in total during term time at Cleator Moor Nursery School. Although your child is entitled to 30 hours per week term time, you can spread these hours over the full year by using other providers who are open in school holidays. We would work in partnership with other providers to ensure you get maximum benefit from your entitlement. Please note; your 30 hours can only be split between a maximum of two providers.

The additional hours will be offered on a sessional basis. Your allocation will be agreed on a termly basis and can only be changed for the start of each term (if places are available), by notifying the School Office as soon as possible.

If you do not qualify for free additional hours, but would be interested in using extended care, there may be an opportunity to book some sessions for a small charge.
