Nursery Classroom

At Cleator Moor Nursery School, our curriculum in our School Nursery Class is centered around a love of stories and is language rich, it teaches our children explicit vocabulary. We have a structured story each week and linked opportunities and experiences through the provision to develop the children’s knowledge and skills in all 7 areas of the Early Years Curriculum.  Person Development is at the heart of our curriculum and the children have ongoing opportunities to visit their local community and beyond to enrich the curriculum opportunities and experiences. So far this year we have been to Stocks Wood Outdoor Centre , our local bakery, Seascale Beach, Muncaster Castle and Rosehill Theatre.

We prepare our children to be school ready and the children take part in daily early phonic sessions and math’s activities to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to be able to start Reception on track with their development. 

Our nursery provides a safe and nurturing environment which allows each child to flourish, recognising their individual strengths, abilities and potential.
